Oh Kathie, I just found your posting and I am shocked to hear of your ordeal and all the complications of the surgery. I'm so sorry this has happened to you, but glad the 'worst' is over now. Your photos make it all the more real (I'm glad your camera is undamaged). I hope you find creative ways to continue to rest and heal, and I will keep checking in to see how you are progressing.
Love and hugs,
Lesley-Anne

Goodness, your story brought tears to my eyes, you poor thing, what a crazy adventure you have had. I pray that your leg heals really well and quickly, I guess it is now payback time for your hubby as he waits on you now!! All the best Kathie. :)

Kathie,

So glad I hear youre doing better. I hope you have a quick recovery, as I know how much you enjoy your walks and photography. It's reasons like this that I always take my cell with me when I go for a walk - even if I'm only walking around the neighborhood. You are a brave and smart woman. I'm not sure if I'd have been able to stay calm through an ordeal like that. I wish you a speedy recovery. I'm sure you'll be bak out waking before you know it.

Oh Kathie you poor thing. Reading this bought all the memories of breaking my leg back to me, but at least I was at home, so didn't go through all the stress and pain you had to. You will have a much more dramatic story to tell! I can't imagine how terrifying it would be, to be on your own and so isolated. You will find creative ways to have your leg up and continue to work, and being a VA is certainly a blessing at a time like this, (much better than working in a shop LOL). But take it easy, rest often. The surgery and your leg's recovery will take a huge toll on your whole body for quite a while.
And enjoy being 'the queen' as my Graeme called me when I had everyone bringing me cuppas.
Take care Kathie.

What a story! I have been walking alone too, but I stay away from a lot of the trails (tracks) around my home because I imagined/feared something like that could happen to me. Your story gives me shivers! I have fallen a few times over the years on the icy ground and I guess that's where my fear comes from. It seems every time I have fallen, I've been alone, once I had to crawl into the house to call for help and I had a concussion. I slipped backwards and hit the back of my head on the concrete steps in front of my house.

I know it's difficult to have to rely on friends for help, the only thing you can do is be thankful they are there for you! I will be praying for a speedy, complete recovery with tolerable levels of pain until you are healed. Follow your Dr.'s orders and don't try to do too much too soon.

Kathie, 11 years ago a knee injury meant I had to use a wheelchair when shopping. Well, that WAS an experience! I couldn't see the price tags as they all pointed UP. I could barely manoevure in shops as the aisles were packed with merchandise and displays (it was coming up to Christmas so worse than usual). I think EVERYBODY should do their Christmas shopping in a wheelchair at least once - THEN we'd see stores being a lot more supportive and thoughtful of people with disabilities!

We are praying very hard for Graham in God's love he will be healed, and I feel that God has a new job for him in the future, that is why he is where he is, hold on to your faith and keep that smile on your face Kathie, it will help Graham, in the long run, big cuddles and love from Tom and I,
